Jessica: Recount, Sunday (On Tuesday!)

Hello! So, it's not Monday, but I didn't get a chance to do a proper recount for Sunday, I've also added some of the pictures from that day!
Sunday
So, on Sunday I'm sad to say I was the last to wake up, but I managed to pull it together pretty well from there. I got changed, had breakfast with everyone else, and got in the car.
Car trip to Sydney
For the first part of the trip to Sydney, the little boys (Andy and Lachie) and I had our carry-on bags in the boot which meant we had no electronics (Not mentioning books because I downloaded lots of EBooks onto my Ipad to avoid extra weight...). With no electronics, I couldn't put the playlist that I created for the trip on through my phone or Ipad, but I shared the playlist with Mum before we left so we played it through her phone. On the way there, I knew that we needed to keep the little boys happy and entertained, so I started lots of singalongs.
It was all going pretty well, Andy was slightly grumpy by the time we got to Goulburn. When we got there, Dad stopped at the bakery to grab some coffee, so we went to the back of the car and got our bags out.
After that, Andy and Lachie went off into their own little world where only they and their games exist. While they did that, I continued controlling and singing along to the music while also writing in my book.
That was basically it it for the trip to Sydney, but then we got to the airport. Finding a park was hard enough, but then after we got all our stuff out of the car, we started walking to the actual airport. Then, at the pedestrian crossing, Dad and Lachie quickly ducked across, but Mum, Andy and I were still on the other side. We told them we'd catch up, and started waiting, and waiting. I really thought the lights were permanently broken and we'd never leave. After around five minutes, we came up with a theory that the lights really were broken and that the traffic controllers would decide when to stop the cars long enough to get the huge group of people lining up behind us across. They were taking FOREVER! After another five or ten minutes, they stopped the traffic, and the light went green. We were so confused, but still. A quick tip for Sydney Airport: make your traffic rotations shorter!
Sydney Airport Line
Anyways, after that we went inside to line up for the luggage check in. We were the first in line, which was a first, but not surprising since we were around an hour and a half early. We had to wait a long time, but I figured out that the airport had wifi. From there, I signed in and started messaging my friends and updating them on how it was going to far, ect. After a while, a few people had joined the line with us.
Then, there were some airport workers (possibly flight attendants) who came and asked us to move away from the line because they needed to re align the ropes that showed where to line up. It was kind of funny though because Dad and I were having a conversation about why they had to change the way the line went. We ended up talking about how they saw it as a work of art and how they basically changed the "design" whenever and however they pleased. We started walking down and asked whether we could duck under the ropes instead of walking down three crisscrossing rows. They just said that we should take our time cause we were still six minutes early. Yeah, I know.
Anyways, we were still first inline to have our luggage dropped off. We then headed to the security section. For the record: Airport Security hates me. Last year, I scanned my carry-on and they took it into their special area where they go through it to make sure there's nothing you're not allowed to have in there. I was so confused when they brought it over to talk to me. Mum, Andy, Lachie and Issy (She was with us last time) went ahead leaving Dad and I to work out what was wrong. The Security person asked me if I had a compass in my bag. I said no, Dad asked me if I had taken this one on a scout camp and forgot to take it out. The answer was still no. I'm sure you know where I'm going with this, but the Security person went through my bag and brought out my pencil case. I was still confused till she took out my geometry kit. Basically, they threw away most of my geometry kit...
This time, I was still nervous, but pretty sure that I didn't have anything like that in there again. They put my bag back back in that section. I was really confused this time and had no idea what it could be. The Security person came over. He asked if I had any water in there. I said my water bottle was empty, then said, or is it? I realised that I had meant to drink it in the lounge. The person made Dad go back out and empty my water bottle for me... I think Sydney Airport has something against me...
Anyways, we went into the lounge where we waited a while to get a table. I then got the most fancy chicken nuggets and chips I've ever seen! Then ice cream, while also messaging Thuhi and the rest of my friends.
Anyways, we were quite early for the plane so we decided to go looking around the shops a bit, Mum and the boys lost Dad and I on the way, so Dad and I got some bottled water for the trip. We were waiting for the others to get back when we noticed that just about everyone had boarded the plane. Dad went to find Mum and the boys when we saw Mum coming back. Basically, the boys left to go to the bathroom but mum didn't know which one. So both Mum and Dad left to find them while I stayed with the backpacks. Then Mum came back with Andy who apparently left his bag, meaning they had to go back. We started heading for the plane while Dad jogged with Lachie to catch up.
Lachie and I on the plane!
We got there, (obviously) and joined the line of people still getting on. On the way on, someone gave Mum a colouring book for no apparent reason, then passed it on to me. It was great, and would've been greater if I had my colouring pencils...
The plane ride was beautiful! I took a time lapse of both take off and landing. When we crossed into New Zealand, it was not real! There were snow capped mountains, rivers, ect. Everything was amazing!
A glimpse of New Zealand on a plane!
Once we got off, we went to macca's before heading to our first place to stay. Also, just pointing out that Mum found some of the best accommodation I've seen! I went straight to bed and slept really well! The time change was very annoying though. In New Zealand time, I slept in. In Australian time, I woke up way too early!

Anyways, that was a recount of Sunday, Monday and Tuesday will be coming soon!
Bye! Jess xoxo
